Travis is an avid hunter who grew up along the gulf coast of Texas and Louisiana learning the art of wingshooting. He spent 25 years in the US Army as a Combat Engineer and Combat Medic. After retiring at FT Bliss, TX, he and his family settled in El Paso. Travis spends a lot of time scouting and patterning birds, specifically Dove and Duck. He hunts public land exclusively and works extremely hard at putting people on the birds. Being a Combat Wounded, Disabled Veteran, Travis has a lot of mobility limitations. His wounds, however, drive him to scout and recon extremely hard. “Nobody wants to be in so much pain they don’t enjoy there hunt”, he says. “If you work really hard at being where the bids want to be, you expend less energy setting up”. The other reason is so that there is a high chance of success for him and his “clients”. Travis started writing in 2017. He writes to educate, inform, and to collaborate with other outdoorsmen. His comedic and sarcastic style have been a trademark of his since he started. He will occasionally write short stories to entertain as well as share his real life while writing in the third person. He also enjoys cooking wild game and creating meals that introduce people to another culinary side of life.
